Cut the template to size with tin snips. Then sand the edge with with a small piece of 200 sand paper tri folded in your hand - fast and furious - till it's hot in your hand.  Drag your nail down the edge.  No snags? Template is ready.  It is that easy!

Don't use plywood or aluminum - Tri/T has less friction with the T/370 Hot/Wire.
